Which file formats are supported

File translation accepts 25 formats: PDF, DOC, DOCX, ODT, RTF, XLS, XLSX, XLTX, XLSM, ODS, PPT, PPTX, ODP, HTML, EPUB, MD, TXT, CSV, XML, SRT, PNG, JPEG, WEBP, GIF and TIFF. Translations export to Word, PDF, Markdown or EPUB, and a bilingual PDF and Word pair — original and translation interleaved paragraph by paragraph — can be produced alongside them.

Which languages are supported

Around 30 languages, grouped by region. Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese and English are pinned to the top; Asia covers Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Thai, Indonesian, Hindi and more; the Middle East covers Arabic, Hebrew, Persian and Turkish; Europe covers German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Russian and others; Swahili is also available. The source language can be detected automatically.

How billing works

Geyi bills in credits, and the rate follows the file type and the precision you pick. On high precision, PDFs and images through AI reflow are 8 credits a page, while Word, EPUB, text formats and layout-preserving PDF are 4 credits a page; standard precision is half that. Every file bills at least 10 credits.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use Geyi without an account?

Pricing, features and help pages are all readable without signing in. Submitting a translation needs an account; signing up comes with 300 credits and a one-day trial of the Research tier.

What can Geyi do besides translation?

A paper can be turned into an editable PPTX — outline first, then slide by slide. Chinese and English drafts can go through AI-rate reduction. PDF, Word, EPUB, PPT and Markdown convert between the common pairings. Text inside scans, images and vertically typeset pages can be extracted into editable horizontal text.

Will the layout survive translation?

Layout-preserving mode keeps the original PDF pagination and replaces the text layer in place, so page breaks, tables and figures stay where they were. AI reflow rebuilds the document instead, which suits scans, images and messily formatted sources.

Can scans and images be translated?

Yes. Scans, photos and old vertically typeset pages go through AI reflow, which recognises the text before translating it. Vertical Japanese is converted to horizontal output and multi-column pages come back in reading order.

Do I have to keep the page open for a long document?

No. Jobs run in the background once submitted, so you can close the page and collect the result from History.

What happens to the files I upload?

The privacy policy states what is collected, how long it is kept, who can reach it, and the retention period for jobs and their outputs. Access, correction and deletion requests go to support@geyi.net and are answered within 30 days.
