Credits and billing rules
Geyi bills in credits. This page covers three things: how each feature is counted, when you are charged, and when you are not.
How it is counted
Translation and extraction bill per page; AI-rate reduction bills per thousand characters. The per-page rate for file translation depends on two things: whether the file takes the recognition path or the local parsing path, and whether you chose high precision or standard.
PDFs and images on AI reflow take the recognition path (8 credits a page on high precision, 4 on standard). Word, EPUB, text formats and layout-preserving PDF take the local path (4 and 2). For local formats, a 'page' counts as 1,600 characters.
When you are charged
The estimate for your file appears before you submit, not after the job runs. Credits are held while the job runs, settled on completion, and released automatically if it is cancelled or fails.
The final charge follows the real page count the server parses. In the pre-upload estimate, PDF page counts are exact while Word and EPUB are estimated from character count, so the final figure can differ.
When you are not charged
- If your balance is short, the job is cancelled outright and nothing is charged.
- Failures caused by the service being busy are not charged.
- When a job fails or is cancelled, held credits are released automatically.
- Where OCR could not read some pages, those pages are excluded from the charge.
- Rebuilding a deck after editing its outline is not charged again.

Frequently asked questions
Why did a tiny file still cost 10 credits?
Every file translation bills at least 10 credits; small files and single images are floored up to it.
What if the estimate and the charge differ?
The charge follows the real page count the server parses. PDF estimates are exact; Word and EPUB are converted from character count, and density varies.
Are credits refunded when a job fails?
Credits are held rather than deducted while a job runs, and the hold is released automatically on failure or cancellation — nothing to claim.
How do plan allowances and credit packs combine?
A plan carries a monthly allowance and entitlements; credit packs top up without changing the plan. The two pool together.
Why do the two modes differ by half on the same PDF?
Layout-preserving reads the existing text layer directly, while AI reflow has to run character recognition first, which costs considerably more compute.
Do credits expire?
Credits granted with a membership cycle carry an expiry, and the page shows how many expire and when. Your account page is authoritative.
