Download the Geyi Zotero plugin
Download the .xpi file and install it from Zotero's add-on manager. The page lists the steps and the minimum Zotero version.
Updates are automatic once installed. Installing from the Zotero Chinese community store works too — both routes use the same update channel, so you will not end up on a stale build.
Before you install
Zotero 7 through 9 is supported, on Windows, macOS and Linux. Zotero 6 and earlier use a different add-on mechanism and aren't supported.

If you already use Zotero Addons, search for “Geyi” there to install it in one click — no manual download. Either way the plugin keeps itself up to date.
Installation
- Step 1 Download the .xpi file above
- Step 2 In Zotero, open Tools → Add-ons, click the gear icon → "Install Plugin From File…"
- Step 3 Select the downloaded .xpi to install it
- Step 4 Restart Zotero, then sign in under Settings → Geyi Translator
Frequently asked questions
Where do I sign in after installing?
Restart Zotero and open Settings → Geyi Translator, then click sign in. Confirm once in your browser and you're linked — no password is ever typed into the plugin.
How does the plugin update?
Automatically. Manual installs and store installs use the same update channel, and Zotero prompts you when a new version is out.
Do I need to buy credits separately for the plugin?
No. The plugin and the web app share one account and one credit balance, so it is drawn from the same pool either way.
